Excerpt from the website

This section provides details on the ‘Total Operation Fee’ charged at public hospitals for common surgical procedures. ‘Total Operation Fee’ is a component of the total hospital bill which comprises ‘Surgeon Fee’, ‘Anaesthetist Fee’ and ‘Facility Fee’. There is no direct link between ‘Total Operation Fee’, ‘Surgeon Feeor ‘Anaesthetist Fee’ and Doctors’ pay.

The publication aims to provide greater transparency of this component, complementing MOH’s existing publication of total hospital bills for common conditions/ procedures.

The figures shown are based on actual transacted fee data of all cases submitted by the hospitals. The ‘Total Operation Fee’ for each procedure is shown for Unsubsidised (i.e. ‘Day Surgery Private’ and ‘Ward A’) and Subsidised (i.e. ‘Day Surgery Subsidised’, ‘Ward B2’ and ‘Ward C’).

To ensure that there are adequate cases for meaningful comparisons, ‘Total Operation Fee’ for procedures with less than 30 cases will not be shown.
