REACH-ing out to S’poreans on the National Day Rally

SINGAPORE: REACH will be actively seeking views from Singaporeans on the National Day Rally (NDR) by providing an array of online and traditional platforms to engage Singaporeans.

There will be a live Facebook chat on the REACH Facebook Page on September 5.

The online community will be able to engage in a real-time discussion with Minister of State for Health & Manpower and REACH Chairman, Dr Amy Khor, Parliamentary Secretary for Health & Transport, Associate Professor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, and Member of Parliament, Mr Baey Yam Keng.

Traditional dialogue still remains a key component of REACH’s engagement with Singaporeans.

A public forum will be held on August 30, chaired by Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen and hosted by REACH Chairman Dr Amy Khor.

A Kopi Talk youth dialogue will also be held on August 28, to engage youths. It will be chaired by Acting Minister for Manpower & Senior Minister of State for National Development, Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, and Dr Amy Khor.

Singaporeans can also tune in to MediaCorp’s 938 LIVE on August 27, where Dr Amy Khor and REACH Supervisory Panel member Mr Zaqy Mohamad will engage callers on issues raised at the rally from 8.10am to 9.00am.

Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry & National Development, Mr Lee Yi Shyan, and Mr Baey Yam Keng, will also be sharing their views on the NDR on Capital Radio 958 at the same time.

REACH will also be launching a microsite on Tuesday for Singaporeans to get the latest updates on this years National Day Rally which will be held on Sunday.

There will be a live webcast of NDR 2012 on the REACH microsite on August 26. REACH will also be posting live updates of the NDR onTwitter.

Live signing for the deaf will be available at both the REACH microsite and the Prime Minister Office website, and also on smartphones.
