Happy Labour Day !

No great achievement is possible without persistent work. ~ Bertrand Russell

From all of us at the Kampong Glam community, we wish all our residents and fans a Happy Labour Day holiday 2012!

Happy May Day everyone! Today is labour day and it’s a day to recognize and celebrate the hard work of our labour force in Singapore. Singapore’s success today is the result of the labour and dedication of ALL our workers over the past decades. Hence, a big kudos to ALL our workers in Singapore! Let us continue to strive towards inclusive growth, an inclusive Singapore!

“We want Singapore to be a competitive economy and an inclusive society, where the benefits of growth are distributed fairly and widely. We want this to remain a vibrant land of opportunity which continues to attract investors and which helps Singaporeans to create a brighter future for ourselves.” – Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong

Joined close to 2000 fellow union leaders and tripartite partners at May Day Rally 2012.

The year ahead still looks positive, but the global climate continues to cloud the horizon. Yet, ours is a resilient workforce, one that has helped to build our country to what it is today.

Singaporean workers must continue to remain the core of our economy. Productivity and wages must go up in tandem and ensure that no worker is left behind. There is much more to be done so that we can achieve better jobs for all!
